Install the testing Profile
A Device Profile is required for remote location testing. It is not a harmless shortcut file. Install only on devices you own or are authorized to test. This page never hosts the Profile download.
What the Profile contains
- CA root certificate
- IKEv2 VPN payload
- EAP credentials (streamed once; not stored in the control plane)
Until CMS signature verification is proven, we do not describe it as a “signed Profile”. You can delete it from iOS Settings at any time.
Safari install steps
- Open the one-time download link in Safari on the iPhone.
- Allow the Profile download when prompted.
- Open Settings → Profile Downloaded (or General → VPN & Device Management) and install.
- Trust certificates only if you understand the testing Profile payload.
- Return to the dashboard and tap “I've installed the Profile”. That confirmation is not Online telemetry.
How to remove
Settings → General → VPN & Device Management → remove the WLOC testing Profile. Restore and Revoke from the dashboard remain available even when the account is restricted.
Troubleshoot
- Link expired: generate a new one-time link from the dashboard.
- Download interrupted: the previous token is invalid — mint a new link.
- Connection stays “not yet verified”: v0.1 does not observe tunnel Online. User confirmation never means device_online.
- After waiting, continue to Control for the Tokyo Tower diagnostic — still without inventing Online status.
